The Ultimate Street Art Experience!

Last night the Art Law & More team was delighted to host some of our close contacts and clients at the Ultimate Street Art Experience! We took a walking tour around the world-famous street art district, Shoreditch discovering some of London’s most famous street art hot spots where international superstars create their masterpieces. The tour concluded at a secret location where we rolled up our sleeves and participated in a live graffiti workshop led by some of the UK’s most prolific and high-profile street artists to create our very own piece of street art.

Our tour guide Chris Pensa has been leading Street Art Walks & Live Graffiti Workshops in London for over a decade and is one of the UK's most knowledgeable street art experts & urban adventurers. In collaboration with the Art Law & More team, at the start of lockdown he launched Street Art On Skates, the world's first & only livestream street art tour on rollerblades. Chris studied Art History at The Courtauld Institute of Art before becoming an auctioneer & British Art Expert at Sotheby's - and among many career highlights he became the first person to catalogue a work of art by Banksy for sale at auction in 2003. You can find Chris on Instagram @houseofgraffiti to get a flavour of him in action and to follow his urban, arty adventures.

Boodle Hatfield is at the forefront of the law in relation to street artists and the ground-breaking legal issues that their art creates. By way of example, we have acted for a charity that successfully recovered a Banksy mural called “Art Buff”, which had been cut out of a wall in Folkestone, Kent and subsequently appeared on the art market in Miami. We also act for several prominent street artists, including claims for breach of copyright for the unauthorised use of their work in advertisements.
