WeWork now accepting payment in cryptocurrencies

An interesting announcement from WeWork that not only will it be accepting some cryptocurrencies (including Bitcoin and Ethereum amongst other) from its members/occupiers but it will also be paying, where applicable, landlords and suppliers via cryptocurrencies. WeWork have stated that the rationale behind this move is to meet 'growing demand for optionality and convenience'.

Coinbase, a cryptocurrency exchange platform, will be the first WeWork member to use cryptocurrency to pay for its WeWork membership.

It will be fascinating to see whether other flexible space operators and landlords follow suit in accepting payments in cryptocurrencies.
